Mobile Website - UI/ Visual Design

Working alongside the Jack & Jones team in their head office in Denmark, the trip began with a number of successful and extensive research groups. The information collated from these groups along with the wireframes, enabled me to create the final designs for their fashion retail mobile site.
At the time Jack & Jones catered for three demographics, therefore three different home hub designs were created to reflect each style. However, to ensure the branding was consistent across the board, but each had their own identity, I kept an editorial aesthetic throughout.
As Jack & Jones have many of the same products in multiple colours, I suggested that we enable the user to change the colour of the products on the PLP; this allows the user to change and view the different options at this stage. This also saves clicking through to the PDP, which ultimately makes the users experience more efficient while browsing.
UI / Design System
_
FreeGym is a fitness platform inspired by Wowcher and AirBnB. I conceptualised the brand look and feel from scratch, created end to end user journeys and a design system that was responsive and flexible across all devices.
I worked closely with the stakeholder and gained experience in maintaining effective relationships with off-shore developers to ensure high UI standards were met. This process was made more efficient as the design system I created was incredibly thorough and every scenario was mapped out.
Tablet Website - UI/ Visual Design

Based at the M&S London head office, I worked alongside their in-house UX team for six weeks. After adhering to very strict guidelines I was able to create the visual design across their tablet website.
I designed a grid system on the homepage that allowed images with the use of typography to create an elegant and modern aesthetic without the information being too obtrusive. This therefore ensures it doesn’t hinder the users selection when starting their journey.

SurfStitch is an industry leading global sports online retailer that has evolved to become a destination site for customers to connect with everything action sports. Usablenet were commissioned to design a mobile site, where I lead the project from wireframes, right through to visual design.
As SurfStitch have multiple options to sort and refine products, I had the idea of creating a simple sticky footer in the PLP, which contained a ‘Refine’ call to action. Once pressed, this panel slides to the top of the screen to reveal all options available to them. The use of various icons reassures the user of their selections at this stage. Here, the user can refine their search to optimise the PLP experience.
Prototype - UI/Visual Design
-
Lego is one of the worlds leading toy manufactures and after a number of very successful user research groups, Usablenet were commissioned to create a fully working prototype. The aim of the prototype was to create a hub, where the user can become immersed in a Lego world. My task was to create all the visual designs from the wireframes provided, which would then be used in the working prototype.
One of the key areas we concentrated on during this project was creating an imaginative wish list, which would allow the user to create a tailor made list of the items they like, whether that be at the PLP or the checkout stage. The user is guided through this process by the intuitive icons and colour to define different states, which then helps aid their decision making. This is also reinforced in the clean layout of the notification screens that appear throughout this prototype, further enticing the user to make their decisions.

In 2014 Butlins, one of Britain’s Leading budget holiday firms, created a new visual identity to help the brand better connect with the British public. With this in mind, Usablenet were commissioned to design and build their new mobile website. Once I was presented with wireframes my role was to create the visual design across the entire mobile site.
As choosing a room is such an essential part to a Butlins holiday, I wanted to focus on ensuring the layout and colour was as concise and informative as possible, allowing the user to have an emotional response to their selections.

Mole Valley Farmers was founded in 1960 by a small group of farmers and are now one of the UK’s leading agricultural businesses. With a desire to grow their mobile audience, Mole Valley Farmers approached Usablenet to create their mobile website. After an extensive wireframe process my role was to create the visual design across the whole site.
Due to the considerable amount of products sold on the Mole Valley site, I thought it best to keep the simplicity of a three tier navigation in the slide out menu. I then organised the hierarchy of information to make it easier for the user to access. By overlaying the navigation it meant that the user did not deviate from their original task, therefore not disrupting their train of thought.
Event Design - Print/ Branding

Experian’s Digital Summit takes place in the UK every year. My task while working at Cheetahmail, was to design and brand the event. I chose to create a new visual identity, which consisted of a complementary logo mark supported by Experian’s existing fonts and colour palette.
